Weekly Wins: Blog Growth, Mentoring, And Celebrating My Mom’s 80th Birthday

I love to end every week by celebrating wins! It’s a sure-fire way to practice gratitude and stimulate positive energy. And that’s a great way to start the week.

This past week wasn’t perfect, but it was full of some beautiful moments.

80th birthday

Win #1: Celebrated My Mom’s 80th Birthday!

I love and adore my mom! We look alike, we sound alike, and we even laugh alike! I’m so grateful that she is alive, in good health, and just as feisty as ever on her 80th birthday! I’m calling it a win that my siblings and I were able to gather in Tampa and celebrate her birthday in style!

Win #2: Mentoring Matters

Even though this is a holiday week, I made time for a mentoring call with an emerging leader who requested my support. Sometimes I’m unsure how much I can help a person that I’ve never met before. But this leader asked great questions, listened deeply, wanted to be pushed, and was thankful for honest and direct feedback. Afterwards I received a delightful thank you note that included this line: “I’m fairly certain that I learned more during our hour long call than maybe any other call in my life!!” I’m calling this a win because mentoring is my Zone of Genius and it feels great to be able to use my gifts AND support a dynamic leader in the process.

Win #3: Blog Views

This week, my Annual Planning post was featured in Rockstar Finance, Bravely and The Financial Diet! And that resulted in a whole bunch of people visiting TheBestChapter.com. I’m a complete beginner when it comes to blogging so it was genuinely surprising and delightful to have 3,060 visitors this week! I enjoyed capturing the planning process that has been so useful for our family and sharing it with others.

It always feels great to pause, take a deep breath, and remember 3 wins from the previous week. Searching for the wins invites gratitude and the energy of gratitude opens the door for joy.

As always, I encourage you try it yourself and see what gratitude inspires for you.
